I don't know / forgot my password.

First of all: we can not set it for you because TDCApply only stores password hashes. If you had an account in the old proposal system, the default password for the new system is the same. If you forgot your password, please use the "I forgot my password" button on the home page. You will need the email-address you registered with (either in the old system or in TDCApply). If you do not know the email-address, please email us for help.

Where are my old proposals?

Proposals from the old system are accessible here: Previous proposals from the old system. All proposals you entered in TDCApply are stored in its database and accessible via the "Your proposal" page (where you get to after logging in). The old proposal system is also accessible from the Proposal Creation and Proposal Update page.

Why do I have to submit now?

This way you can start to work on a proposal when you get the idea for it and do not have to wait until a call for proposals is issued for the relevant TAC session. This gives you more time to work on a proposal and finish setting it up whenever you are ready and not when the TAC calls for them. You just need to remember to actually submit the proposal after the call for proposals has been sent out.

How do I best create a proposal?

There is a recipe in the TDCApply help.

Why can't I send a tex-file for the scientific justification?

Simply because it is easier, for you as well as for us. For you because you are not dependent on us using the same packages and versions as the Tex / Latex system you are using for creation. You just create a pdf document with whatever system you are using and what we have will exactly look as the output your system created. For us because there are no additional turn-around cycles because the tex-file you sent does not compile on the machine TDCApply is running on. Please not the we offer a LaTeX template for download on the Proposal Creation and Proposal update page. Please use this template as a starter.

Why offering a LaTeX template for the scientific justification if you want pdf files?

Because for the Time Allocation Committee (TAC) we add a header line to the  pdf and place the Cover page generated from the proposal information as a first page. This is called a TAC pdf and is what the TAC will see. You should always check your TAC pdf before you think about submitting! The LaTeX template we provide ensures that the pdf you send has enough space on top for this additional page header.

I already submitted, but want to change something.

Go to the "My Proposals" page (the one you are on after you logged in). The last column is named "Actions". For subitted proposal the is a recall link. Pressing it will revert the submission, you proposal will be "not submitted" again and you can change it freely. Just do not forget to submit again in time.
